Tholthorpe 10km Road Race 2014

Tholthorpe 10km is on Sunday 7th September this year. For those not familiar with this lovely event. Tholthorpe is a small village near Easingwold in North Yorkshire. The route is all on quiet country roads and good enough for a PB but, nice enough to just enjoy your run. The village green where the race starts and finishes is complete with duck pond and village pub. Tholthorpe offers the perfect summers day out for the runner and their family. Whorlton Run 2014

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is the Whorlton Run on Wednesday 18th June. Entry is £6 on the day only. Registration/Start/Finish is at the Black Horse, Swainby, Near Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The race starts at 7.15pm and is about 10km long with 427 metres of ascent. Ossy Oiks Fell Races Results 2014

A brilliant night for running very warm and a slight breeze saw an excellent turnout particularly from the York contingent. As this is a navigation event on a small scale it was fascinating to hear of the different route selections. All runners managed check one where Trevor saw them through. The next race in the Northern Runner / Esk Valley Fell Club Summer Fell Race Series is Ossy Oiks on Wednesday 21st May 2014. The fun starts at 7.15pm and the start/finish/registration is outside the church, Arncliffe Woods, Ingleby Cross, Stokesley, North Yorkshire (grid ref 453003). Entry is £6 on the night only. Carlton Challenge Fell Race Results 2014

Well that was the start of the new Summer Series. A cool night but although cloudy the rain held off and gave us some excellent running conditions. There was a large field of 120 plus the one lonely Junior in the Under 12’s race, Adam Wanless was therefore the winner in 8.45. Back to the seniors the large pack wound its way over to the wood and gradually stretched out with Jim Bulman leading from Jack Willis. Pier to Pier Run 2014

Postal entries have now closed for this years Pier to Pier but, don’t dispare you can still enter on the day before 9.30am. The event starts at 10am and runs from the Pier at South Shields to Roker Pier, Sunderland a distance of about 7.5 miles. For more details click here to go to Sunderland Strollers website.
