A windy but clear day, a little overcast although slightly wet underfoot, generally good running conditions was what greeted runners for the latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series. Glaisdale Rigg Fell Race

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is Glaisdale Rigg on Sunday 8th March 10.30am. The course is 13.7 km long with 562 metres of ascent. Registration is at the Arnecliffe Arms, Glaisdale, Castleton, Whitby, North Yorkshire. Entry is £6 and on the day only. The course has some good bridleways and bits of tarmac but, the single track over the moor and through the woods plus the final descent are always muddy. Commondale Beacon Fell Race 2015

The latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was a great day for a race. Mist on the top which was thinning all the time and very wet going under foot. At the start of the Commondale Beacon Ian McGrath was leading with a group following consisting of Danny Braun, Chris Roberts and Simon Rycroft. Clennell Trail Marathon and 10 Miler 2015

If you are looking for a great trail race then look no further than the Clennell Trail Marathon and 10 Miler on the 2nd August. Broughton Woods Wobble 2014

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Broughton Woods Wobble on Sunday 1st February 2015. The event is a challenging 7.3km route with 372 metres of ascent which makes it an category A fell race. Registration is at Clay Bank Car Park,nr Great Broughton, Stokesley (grid reference 572036). Clay Bank East Fell Race Results and Report 2015

The weather for the latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was cold with frost hard in the ground making running slower. There was another record turnout and a late start record to continue- inadvertently- the 11.00 a.m. starts of the last two races. Captain Cooks Fell Race New Years Day 2015 Report and Results

A wet and mild winter’s day led to some slippery conditions but with spirit well into the ethereal blue the field soon absorbed the course in full celebration of the New Year. In the men’s event Paul Lowe returned to full form to gain his 6th victory in this event.
