Fox and Hounds Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is the Fox and Hounds Chase on Wednesday 20th May. This years event will be held over a new course to reduce erosion. Click here to see the course map. The race starts at 7.15pm and is about 10km in length with 350 metres of ascent. Registration/start/finish are outside the Fox and Hounds, Ainthorpe, Near Castleton, Whitby, North Yorkshire (grid ref 704078). Entry is £6 on the night only. There is also races for U10/U12/U14/U16/U18 age group.

Carlton Challenge Fell Race Results 2015

A fantastic opener to the Summer Series. On a day of heavy rain we managed a reasonable window to run with only a few spits and spots. The opening section saw Andy Blackett and last year’s champion Paul Whittaker battling for the early lead with Danny Braun &Ian McGrath but a yard behind. Carlton Challenge Fell Race 2015

The first race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Series is the Carlton Challenge on Wednesday 6th May starting from the top of Carlton Bank at 7.15pm. The race is 8km long with 360 metres of ascent. The last race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was the Maybeck Three Crosses. A cool day with a bit of rain and a strong breeze. Nevertheless the running conditions were good with a firm surface. A small field started this final fixture in the Winter Series. There were 14 marshals and 44 runners. The final race in the Northern Runner/ Esk valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Maybeck 3 Crosses on Sunday 19th April 10.30am start. The race is 11km long with 390 metres of ascent. The start/finish/registration is in the Maybeck Car Park, Near Whitby North Yorkshire. This is one mile past the caravan park at grid reference 8955040. Entry is on the day only and £6. Broughton Wobble fell Race Results 2015

The latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell race Series was an in and out day with some rain and strong winds on the top but a lot warmer in the valley.
