Guisborough 3 Tops Fell Race Photographs

Thanks to Andy Cross and David Parke for some great shots of last weekends Guisborough 3 Tops Fell Race which was held over the slightly different English Championship course to be used in Septembers event. Broughton Woods Wobble Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race is Broughton Woodles Wobble on Sunday 12th April. This was postponed in February due to the snow. The race now starts at the earlier time of 9.30am. Entry and registration is from the Clay Bank car park just south of Great Broughton and Stokesley (Grid ref 572036). Entry is £6 on the night only. The latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was the Guisborough 3 Tops. This was run over the slightly modified course that will be used for the English Fell Running Championship Counter in September. It was a beautiful day for running. The ground was generally firm and the temperature was the warmest of the spring so far. The new course needed testing before we use it for The English Championship Race. The opening times at Northern Runner over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend are as follows: Thursday 2nd April – 10.00am-7.00pm Good Friday 3rd April – 11.00am-4.00pm Saturday 4th April – 9.00am – 5.30pm Easter Sunday 5th April – STORE CLOSED Easter Monday 6th April – 11.00am – 4.00pm Then normal opening hours will resume. The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Guisborough 3 Tops on Sunday 5th April 2015. The race is 13km long with 655 metres of ascent. Entry is £7 and on the day only. Registration is at Guisborough Rugby Club and the race starts at 10.30 am. On Sunday 6th September 2015 David Parry and Esk Valley Fell Club are hosting an English Championship Fell Race around the Guisborough 3 Tops Race Route. Blakey Blitz Fell Race Results 2015

The latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was a cool start at about 4 degrees C. The race soon warmed up however with the sun coming out and Esk Valley’s Cameron Taylor off to a flyer. He was pursued by his club colleague Paul Williams then a large group very soon in a small line consisting of Simon Rycroft, Simon Jones, Tom Ratcliffe and Darren Fishwick. Blakey Blitz Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is Blakey Blitz on Sunday 22nd May 2015. This is a tough race 17km with 855 metres of ascent. Don’t be fooled by the downhill start, you run back up the same hill to get to the finish and it’s a long drag. St. George’s 10k Road Race

Road races in the beautiful Langdale Valley have been run for nearly thirty years and in that time many thousands of runners of all standards have enjoyed the stunning location of the races while completing their chosen distance. 10k competitors enjoy an undulating road course out and back along the Langdale Valley taking in the villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater along with the stunning scenery all along the valley.
