Blakey Blitz Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is Blakey Blitz on Sunday 22nd May 2015. This is a tough race 17km with 855 metres of ascent. Don’t be fooled by the downhill start, you run back up the same hill to get to the finish and it’s a long drag. Registration is at the Lyon Inn above Castleside, Nr Guisborough on the North Yorkshire Moors (Grid 678998). The fun starts at 10.30am and entry costs £6.

Although bits of this race are good bridleways and tarmac roads the other bits could be extremely muddy. So, fell shoes would still be the best option. For more details on the route click here.

The Lion Inn at the start and finish is a well known eating house. So, if you want to refuel after your efforts it would be the perfect place.
