Glaisdale Rigg Fell Race 2016

The next event in the Northern Runner/Esk Valley Fell Race Series is Glaisdale Rigg on Sunday 21st February 2016. The race is organised by Loftus and Whitby AC and start/finishes at the Arncliffe Arms, Glaisdale, Near Castleton, Guisborough on the North Yorkshire Moors. Northern Runner/NEHRA Winter Series 2015-16 It was again excellent running conditions for The Captain Cook’s New Years Day Race. We had had a good frost overnight which made it less muddy following torrential downpours. There were four principal contenders in Harry Holmes, Chris Roberts, PaulLowe and Lloyd Biddell with Sam Garratt and Jason Cavill just behind. We were blessed enough with the weather, as much of N.Yorks suffered from flooding but we had a sunny day with a light breeze. The latest round of the Northern Runner/Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series saw a record turnout of over 180 seniors and 19 juniors in an exciting Guisborough Woods Race. Sibling wins for Aidan Rigby Men’s and Alice Rigby ladies with David Beech 2nd and Paul Lowe 3rd in the men’s and a New Marske 1,2,3 in the ladies with Shelli Gordon 2nd and Kath Aspin 3rd.
