Cock Howe and Beyond Fell Race 2013

It was a very hot night with temperatures around 27 degrees C for the latest round of the Northern Runner / Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series. The course was as dry as a bone so going was good. Cock Howe and Beyond Fell Race 17th July 2013

The next race in the Northern Runner / Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is the Cock Howe and Beyond which is on Wednesday 17th July 7.15 pm start. Registration is at the car park to the south of Chop Gate, south of Great Broughton (Grid Ref SE 558 993. Click here to see a map of the race route which is about 7 miles long with 1500 feet of ascent. It’s a lovely run out on a nice summers evening.

Carlton Midsummer Meander Fell Race Results 2013

The latest round of the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series soar temperatures rising to 25 degrees. In these conditions this proved a very testing route. Cameron Taylor made light of the first climb going up like a train with a clear lead at the top of about 45 secs. Saltwell Harriers Fell Race Tuesday 2nd July 2013

Saltwell Harriers Fell Race is on Tuesday 2nd July 2013 starting at 7.30 pm. The registration start and finish is on the B6278, two miles north of Stanhope, Co Durham. The race is 5.6 miles long with 984 feet of ascent and has a mixture of terrain. Tracks, heather, bog, grass and singletrack. Not forgetting the wade waist deep (assuming your 6 feet tall !) in the stream to tag one of the checkpoints. All this for £5 paid on the night. The presentation is in the Moorcock Inn.

Maybeck Three Crosses Fell Race Results 2013

A brilliant day for running. Good temperatures and some drainage on the course after heavy rain all week left the going heavy especially on the route down from Lilla Cross. As I understand it there was a good group in the leading pack as they left the woodland and headed up towards York Cross.
