Saltergate/Levisham Fell Race 2015

The organisers baton for the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell race Series now gets passed from Bob Lillie and his team who did a great job organising Gisborough Moors to Kim England and the team at Pickering AC for the Levisham Saltergate.

For those who remember this event is the old Saltergate Gallows route but, it starts and finishes in the village of Levisham which adds a few miles of bridleway to the route (see the route map below). The race takes place on Sunday 15th November at 10.30 am. Entry is on the day only and £7. Registration is at the Village Hall in Levisham, Nr Pickering, North Yorkshire. There will be tea and cakes available to purchase so bring a few quid extra to aid your recovery.

The run it’s self is about 10 miles long with 1200ish feet of ascent. Although it is a well surfaced bridleway on the way out and back the rest of the course can get pretty muddy. So, I would recommend wearing some well studded fell shoes. Click here to see the race route map.
