North East Running Race Results & News Pinchinthorpe Fell Race 2013 By northernrunner / April 9th, 2013 / There are currently 0 comments It was an excellent day for running. The ground was very fast going as it has dried out a lot in the past week. With 11 juniors in the lower age group races there was plenty of competition to be had. In the senior men’s Jason Cavill of Pickering soon demonstrated his current level of fitness and really had to run on his own for most of the race as those behind could not keep up the pressure. As this is a new route adapted from the previous one it is therefore a new record. Jason was the only one to break 40 minutes. In the women’s race there was much more of a contest with Kay Neesam and Shelli Gordon both of New Marske heading the field. Unfortunately a recurrence of a calf injury slowed her up and Shelli was able to take advantage to win in a new record of 48.37. With Lisa Bennett in third also from New Marske it was a clean sweep for them in the team competition. In the men’s team Esk Valley were comfortable winners from Pickering with the ‘B’ team finishing in fourth. In the juniors Sam Clapton won the Under 12 Boys, Matthew Clarke the Under 10 Boys, Carrie Chapman the U12 Girls, Emma Clapton the U14 girls, Oscar Anglim the U14 Boys, Whilst Sam Garratt won the U16 boys. Well done to all finishers see you at the Salomon sponsored Gisborough Moors Race in two weeks where it is entry on the day only. The is the final race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series….. Best wishes Dave Comments are closed here.
