Guisbrough Woods Fell Race 2012

The next event in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is Guisbrough Woods Fell Race which will be on 27th December 11am start. The registration is at Guisborough Rugby Club and entry is on the day only. Click here to view the new course for both the Junior and Senior Races. This is due to the wet weather and forestry work churning up the paths on the old course.

The Fan Dance

If you are looking for a bit of a challenge in the new year then why not have a go at the Fan Dance. The event is a gruelling 24km non-navigational race over two sides of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. Eskdale Eureka Fell Race Results 2012

The latest event in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series produced some real winter weather with thick ice the biggest problem on route. A lot of runners came in with scraped knees from slipping on the downhills. The best going was often in the heather with a better foot hold. Angus Tait Memorial Hexhamshire Hobble Fell Race 2nd December 2012

The 19th running of the Hexhamshire Hobble will take place on Sunday 2nd December. Click here for the exact details of the registration etc. The route is a mix of hard packed track, a bit of tarmac and some single track moorland paths. Eskdale Eureka Fell Race Sunday 2nd December 2012

Race 5 in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Eskdale Eureka on Sunday 2nd December. The race is 14.6 km with 470 metres of ascent and is mainly narrow moorland path type running with a few short road and track sections. The race starts at 10.30am from the car park above the ‘Dibble’ near Castleton, North Yorkshire, grid reference 680078. Entry is £6 on the day only. Conditions are likely to be wet so please come prepared.
