Guisborough Grunt Fell Race Results 2013

Another sultry night which made for fast running. As they set off it was the usual culprit injecting the pace in Paul Butler through to Greenhill with Jack Willis hanging in behind then a group of four led by Cameron Taylor. In the women’s race Kay Neesam set off quickly followed by Shelli Gordon and Nicola Kent. At the top of Highcliff the men were
now grouped into three leaders in Paul, Jack and Cameron whilst in the women’s race there was a steady line of Kay, Shelli and Nicola. There was chaos coming back as Paul who had marked the route the day before was left by Jack and Cameron but then neither of the front two were sure of the way and made several minor navigation errors on the
return which reflected in a very tight finish as Cameron just squeezed out Jack on the line. In the women Kay continued her excellent form to win from an improving Shelli with Nicola not far away. In the men’s team Esk Valley were clear winners ahead of Loftus and Whitby. In the women’s team event New Marske won easily but Thirsk & Sowerby hold on to the overall lead in the team championship. See you at ‘Inclined to Madness don’t forget the
change to the finish and that registration will close at 7.00p.m. and will be below The Clay
Bank Car Park. … Best wishes Dav
