Gibside Trail Race Results 2012

Lorna Young of Heaton Harriers was a clear winner of the Ladies race at this years Gibside Trail Race. Her time of 38.04 put her only 2 minutes 25 seconds behind the lead men. A great run on a sunny mild day.

The Men’s Race was a bit more competitive with only 20 seconds seperating the top 4 places. Local man Phil Sanderson running for Elswick Harriers managed to out strength Patrick Duffy (Heaton harriers) by a mere 7 seconds. Stewy Bell, a past multiple winner, now running for his local club and race organisers Blackhill Bounders was another 10 seconds back. Richard Parker of Tynedale Harriers was last of the highly competitive lead group another 3 seconds behind Stewy Bell.

It was a lovely day for running which made a change from the heavy rain endured in recent years. Although conditions under foot where muddy as is becoming the norm for the annual blast round the grounds of Gibside. Click through to the full race results.
