Eskdale Eureka Fell Race 2016

The next event in the Dave Parry Winter Fell Race Series is the Eskdale Eureka on Sunday 4th December 2016. The Start/Finish/Registration is from the car park above Dibble, West end of Castleton, Castleton, North Yorkshire (Grid Ref NZ 680078). Entry is £6 on the day only and the fun starts at 10.30am. The route is about 8 miles long with 1500 feet of ascent. The terrain varries from little tracks through the heather to rocky bridleways and muddy paths. Fell Shoes or very grippy trail shoes would be best.

Full Fell Running safety kit must be carried. (Hat, Gloves, Waterproof Jacket and Pant, Map of route, Compass, Whistle, energy bar/gel) This is a winter event and it would be very easy to get cold and hypothermic if you had to walk back to the start after a fall or twisted ankle.
