40th Gisborough Moors Fell Race 2017

2017 marks the 40th running of the Gisborough Moors Fell Race this is the next event in the Dave Parry Winter Fell Race Series. Gisborough Moors is the classic fell race that runs over the North Yorkshire Moors. The 12.5 mile route takes in Captain Cooks, Roseberry Topping and High Cliffe Nab which gives it an ascent of over 2500 feet. The underfoot conditions range from single tracks over the moors which can be wet to hard packed tracks. Over the years a lot of the tracks have been surfaced so depending on the weather you might get away with a less grippy shoe than a fell shoe. However, if conditions are wet it is best to use a fell shoe or grippy trail shoe as when it’s muddy it can get very slippy on some of the descents. This years race takes place on Sunday 23rd April starting at 11am. Resgistration/start/finish is at Guisborough Rugby Club on Belmangate, Guisborough, North Yorkshire. Entry is on the day only and £7. Click here to see a map of the race route.
