The men's Brooks Hyperion Max 3 is a highly cushioned training shoe that brings together comfort with propulsion in a performance training shoe. Designed with race preparation in mind, it delivers a soft, energetic ride thanks  the three-element-construction midsole that features: firm DNA Flash v2 foam; an integrated nylon SpeedVault plate; and soft, springy DNA Gold foam on top. This combination delivers a plush feeling on landing, with a noticeable, springy rebound at toe-off. The RapidRoll rocker geometry keeps things moving forward whether you mean to or not, making this a shoe that pushes the pace - ideal for tempo runs, long training runs, and steady efforts, however, this makes it less suitable as a recovery shoe.

The sock-like upper is made from thin, breathable mesh, which has a snug feel and keeps the air circulating to keep you cool. An elasticated collar holds the foot in place even when laces are loose. The tongue is lightly padded where it needs to be to reduce lace pressure. The heel cup is firm, which adds rearfoot stability without compromising comfort, while the thin, breathable mesh keeps things cool. 

The Hyperion Max 3 features a straight big toe line, which encourages a strong toe-off while also allowing sufficient room for the rest of the toes to splay naturally. The result is a natural, roomy toe box that doesn’t feel sloppy.

The Midsole 3-Layer Construction

• DNA Flash v2 (base layer): nitrogen-infused foam for stability and responsiveness
• SpeedVault plate (mid layer): plastic propulsion plate flared at the heel for added control
• DNA Gold (top layer): soft, bouncy PEBA foam that gives the shoe its plush feel

With a 6mm drop, the Hyperion Max 3 now has a stack height of 46mm in the heel and 40mm in the forefoot. While keeping the overall weight impressively low, 280g for a men’s UK 8, the additional foam enhances cushioning and softens the ride, especially at toe-off. While ground feel is minimal, the grip is confident, thanks to Brooks' RoadTack rubber outsole - a tacky compound that performs well on tarmac as well as on downhills and at tight corners.

If you're training for a race in a carbon-plated Brooks shoe like the Hyperion Elite, the Hyperion Max 3 makes a perfect companion. It’s more durable, slightly softer, and allows for a more natural footstrike—ideal for building strength and mileage while keeping fatigue low. It’s not a sharp, snappy shoe, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a steady workhorse for race-focused training.

The DPD Next Day delivery postage option guarantees next working day delivery as long as the order is placed before midday Monday to Friday. We cannot dispatch orders on weekends so orders received after midday on a Friday would leave in Mondays post for delivery on Tuesday. There is also no guaranteed next day delivery on weekends so Next Day Delivery orders dispatched on a Friday may not be delivered until Monday. In most cases a 1st Class post order shipped on Friday will be delivered on a Saturday. The delivery must be signed for on receipt. Items shipped using this delivery method are easier to trace if they go missing in the post.

Returns

(Items bought as Christmas presents that where purchased online over 30 days before Christmas can be returned for an exchange up to the 31st January), provided they are returned unused and with the original tags intact.

You have a right to cancel your order for any item purchased through our website with or without reason, under the distance selling regulations for refund. If you are unhappy with your purchase items can be returned in an unused re-sellable condition for replacement or refund within 30 days.

We advise customers to try the shoes in the house for approximately one or two hours to make sure you are happy with the fit.  If you are not happy with the fit when trying the shoes indoors, please return them to us and we will either refund or exchange.  We are unable to accept returned shoes that have been worn outdoors, unless there is a manufacturing fault or defect with the shoe.

Faulty returns must be sent back for inspection before a refund will be issued. If the product is found to have a defect you will be offered a refund or exchange (if available). Refunds will ONLY be given for damaged goods where no replacement product can be supplied. Damage due to normal wear and tear, misuse, alteration to the product, or negligence is not covered under our returns policy and refund will not be given.

Returned goods must be adequately sealed in original packaging. On returning items the original packaging should also be returned undamaged and as received. This must be wrapped in an extra outer layer. Failure to do so could result in only a partial refund being issued.

SUSPECTED FAULTY SHOES SHOULD BE RETURNED CLEAN AND DRY. Shoes that come back to us in a state unfit for our staff to inspect will be kept at our premises until you can arrange for them to be picked up or until you have paid the postage to return the item to you. Please note this is a health and safety issue we take seriously.

Please ensure you ask for a certificate of posting as proof you have sent the package. You are responsible for the item until we receive it therefore we suggest you return the parcel using Royal Mail Recorded (Signed For) Delivery or similar. We will not refund the postage paid by the customer on unwanted returned items or sizing issues (so please contact us regarding sizing prior to ordering if you are unsure).

Goods purchased online cannot be returned to the shop.
