The men’s Brooks Ghost Amp is a neutral road running shoe that bridges the gap between an everyday trainer and a faster running shoe. Comfortable and controlled enough for easy mileage but responsive enough for intervals, tempo sessions and racing, it is a strong option for runners who want versatility from one pair of shoes. Rather than using an aggressive rocker to drive the foot through the gait cycle, the Ghost Amp allows you to control your stride and pace, making it just as comfortable jogging easily as it is when you start running harder.

At the heart of the Ghost Amp is Brooks’ DNA Hype midsole, a blend of PEBA and EVA designed to combine energy return with the durability required from a training shoe. The nitrogen-infused foam feels bouncy without being excessively soft, providing a more grounded feel at slower speeds before becoming increasingly responsive as you put more force through it. A firmer, co-moulded PEBA/EVA section in the forefoot adds toe spring, creating a snappy sensation during toe-off and helping the shoe come alive when you increase the pace.

The lack of a plate or stiff rocker gives the Ghost Amp a natural and manoeuvrable feel, particularly when running shorter, faster intervals or changing direction. Rather than feeling as though the shoe is controlling your stride, the cushioning and forefoot construction provide rebound when you need it while allowing your foot to move naturally. A 6mm heel-to-forefoot drop helps encourage a lighter landing, and at approximately 255g in a men’s UK 8, the Ghost Amp feels impressively light underfoot for a shoe capable of handling everyday training.

Brooks has paired the responsive midsole with the comfort expected from a daily training shoe. The double jacquard mesh upper provides a smooth feel against the foot with a more open outer construction for breathability. Generous padding around the tongue and heel cuff improves comfort, while the firm heel cup provides additional stability. Stretchy mesh attaches the tongue to the base of the shoe, pulling it securely over the foot for a snug midfoot fit. The result is a comfortable, responsive and adaptable road running shoe that can handle easy runs, faster sessions and race day without feeling compromised at either end of the pace range.

The DPD Next Day delivery postage option guarantees next working day delivery as long as the order is placed before midday Monday to Friday. We cannot dispatch orders on weekends so orders received after midday on a Friday would leave in Mondays post for delivery on Tuesday. There is also no guaranteed next day delivery on weekends so Next Day Delivery orders dispatched on a Friday may not be delivered until Monday. In most cases a 1st Class post order shipped on Friday will be delivered on a Saturday. The delivery must be signed for on receipt. Items shipped using this delivery method are easier to trace if they go missing in the post.

Returns

(Items bought as Christmas presents that where purchased online over 30 days before Christmas can be returned for an exchange up to the 31st January), provided they are returned unused and with the original tags intact.

You have a right to cancel your order for any item purchased through our website with or without reason, under the distance selling regulations for refund. If you are unhappy with your purchase items can be returned in an unused re-sellable condition for replacement or refund within 30 days.

We advise customers to try the shoes in the house for approximately one or two hours to make sure you are happy with the fit.  If you are not happy with the fit when trying the shoes indoors, please return them to us and we will either refund or exchange.  We are unable to accept returned shoes that have been worn outdoors, unless there is a manufacturing fault or defect with the shoe.

Faulty returns must be sent back for inspection before a refund will be issued. If the product is found to have a defect you will be offered a refund or exchange (if available). Refunds will ONLY be given for damaged goods where no replacement product can be supplied. Damage due to normal wear and tear, misuse, alteration to the product, or negligence is not covered under our returns policy and refund will not be given.

Returned goods must be adequately sealed in original packaging. On returning items the original packaging should also be returned undamaged and as received. This must be wrapped in an extra outer layer. Failure to do so could result in only a partial refund being issued.

SUSPECTED FAULTY SHOES SHOULD BE RETURNED CLEAN AND DRY. Shoes that come back to us in a state unfit for our staff to inspect will be kept at our premises until you can arrange for them to be picked up or until you have paid the postage to return the item to you. Please note this is a health and safety issue we take seriously.

Please ensure you ask for a certificate of posting as proof you have sent the package. You are responsible for the item until we receive it therefore we suggest you return the parcel using Royal Mail Recorded (Signed For) Delivery or similar. We will not refund the postage paid by the customer on unwanted returned items or sizing issues (so please contact us regarding sizing prior to ordering if you are unsure).

Goods purchased online cannot be returned to the shop.
