The Inov-8 Mudclaw G260 with Graphene is one of the first extreme grip off-road running shoes to use this incredible new material. Amazingly, the addition of Graphene allows the materials used in the G-Series to pack a boost in toughness and durability, yet in addition to flexibility. Often you see an increase in durability as a result of an increase in firmness and potentially a reduction in comfort!
INCLUDED - ATTACHABLE GAITER!
ARRIVING 15TH FEBRUARY!
The Mudclaw G260 is a narrower, minimal gripping machine specifically designed for cross-country running, the muddiest fells and would be a great addition to your obstacle race kit. It has huge 8mm studs and a modest 4mm drop from heel to forefoot.
Inov-8 Width Scale: 1/5 (Narrow to Prevent Slipping)
Lug Depth: 8mm
Midsole Stack: 8.5mm / 4.5mm
Sole Compound: GRAPHENE GRIP
Product Weight: 260g
Graphene is 50% More Elastic
When you add a studded outsole to running shoes, you likely reduce the flexibility due to the sheer volume of rubber. As the Graphene outsole is 50% more flexible, this brand new Mudclaw will feel more responsive and give a better feel for the terrain you're tackling.
That also means a higher surface area will be in contact with the running surface, which ensures you get the best grip possible!
Graphene is 50% More Harder Wearing
In order to make outsoles sticky/grippy they are often made with softer matierials. Unfortunately this meant that they wear much faster than less sticky outsoles, especially (like most of us) if you're running on some hard ground before hitting your favourite trails/fells. Mixing Graphene with the sticky rubber means Inov-8 has seen a 50% improvement in the wear resistance of the outsole, whilst remaining super grippy.
Graphene is 50% Stronger
This means that studs are much less likely to break off and the outsole is much less liekly to get punctured. Essentially there is no longer a compromise between grip and durability with the use of graphene.
Off course there is no point having a longer lasting outsole if the upper falls to bits! So, the G-Series shoes all have Kevlar Uppers. Kevlar is 5 times stronger than steel and is cut and abrasion resistant. There are different grades and thicknesses of Kevlar, which are used to make Motorcycle clothing and even bullet proof vests!
