Wasdale Fell Race
Maybe your looking for a challenge this summer. Maybe you are thinking of taking on ‘Wasdale’ the long fell race in the FRA calendar with the most ascent. This years race is on Saturday 9th July and is 21 miles long with 9000 feet of ascent. The race does a circuit of the hills around Wasdale. If your into figues the men’s record is held by Billy Bland from his 1982 victory and stands at 3 hours 25 minutes. The ladies record was broken in 2008 and is jointly held by Janet McIver and Jackie Lee who finished together in a time of 4 hours 12 minutes.
