Now that the snow has arrived it is time for the first race in the Northern Runner/Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series. This will be Clay Bank West on Wednesday 4th May 2016. The 39th running of the Gisborough Moors now back in its traditional April slot, nicely book ended the 2015/16 Esk Valley/Northern Runner winter series with the 38th version opening the winter series back in October. The change around to accommodate a practice running of the Three Tops English championship event. Had the event been held 24 hours previously then competitors may have been faced with the snow that blanketed the high parts of the North Yorkshire moors, instead the skies were clear, the sun shone, an ideal day for fell... The final race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is Gisborough Moors on Sunday 17th April 2016. The 12.5 mile ish route takes a classic loop around the moor taking in the summits of Captain Cooks, Roseberry Topping and Highcliffe Nab to total over 2600 feet of ascent. The race starts and finishes at Guisborough Rugby Club, Guisborough, North Yorkshire. The start is at 10.30 am.
