Eskdale Eureka Fell Race Sunday 6th December 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Eskdale Eureka on Sunday 6th December 2015. Entry is on the day only and £7. Registration/Start/Finish is from the Car Park above Dibble at the West end of High Castleton, Castleton, Nr Guisborough, North Yorkshire. Saltergate Gallows Fell Race Results 2015

A challenging day with the wet, particularly underfoot for the second race in the Northern Runner/Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series. This did not deter the mud loving field and saw 70 finishers in the main still smiling! The women’s race was in the early stages a contest between Karen Pickles of Pudsey and Sarah Attwood of York Knavesmire, with Louise Venables not too far away. Saltergate/Levisham Fell Race 2015

The organisers baton for the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell race Series now gets passed from Bob Lillie and his team who did a great job organising Gisborough Moors to Kim England and the team at Pickering AC for the Levisham Saltergate. Gisborough Moors Fell Race Results 2015. A bright sunny day greated the runners for the 38th running of this classic fell race. Phil Sanderson, who won the race back in 2011, set off with his usual quick start and lead from gun to tape. Despite the best efforts of Northumberland Fell Runners John Malley and Charlie Stead and Loftus AC’s Paul Butler to close the gap. Although this is the first race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series the weather was more like the summer we never had. Lovely and bright and sunny.
