Ossy Oiks Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is Ossy Oiks on Wednesday 10th June. The Event is an AS category which means it is short and steep in places. 8.5km long with 525 metres of ascent. The start/finish/registration is outside the Church, nr Arncliffe Wood, Ingleby Cross, Near Stokesley, N. Yorks Grid Reference 453003. Entry is £6 on the night only and the fun starts at 7.15pm. Fox and Hounds Fell Race Results 2015

A fantastic night for the new course which was moved because of landslip, erosion by motorbikes/mountain bikes and nesting birds – the moor was wick with them. Leading away was Paul Butler having helped establish the course he knew where he was going. He was pursued by Paul Whittaker, Steve Hardy, Chris Roberts and Ian McGrath. Fox and Hounds Fell Race 2015

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is the Fox and Hounds Chase on Wednesday 20th May. This years event will be held over a new course to reduce erosion. Click here to see the course map. The race starts at 7.15pm and is about 10km in length with 350 metres of ascent. Registration/start/finish are outside the Fox and Hounds, Ainthorpe, Near Castleton, Whitby, North Yorkshire (grid ref 704078). Entry is £6 on the night only. There is also races for U10/U12/U14/U16/U18 age group.

Carlton Challenge Fell Race Results 2015

A fantastic opener to the Summer Series. On a day of heavy rain we managed a reasonable window to run with only a few spits and spots. The opening section saw Andy Blackett and last year’s champion Paul Whittaker battling for the early lead with Danny Braun &Ian McGrath but a yard behind. Carlton Challenge Fell Race 2015

The first race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Series is the Carlton Challenge on Wednesday 6th May starting from the top of Carlton Bank at 7.15pm. The race is 8km long with 360 metres of ascent. Trail shoes would be fine for this event although the final descent is over rough moorland so if you twist your ankle easily on this sort of terrain a fell shoe maybe a better option.
