Weather was not on our side for The Fox & Hounds as it approached it’s 30th birthday. Mist was thick and there was a gentle drizzle so much so that a number of runners actually used their compasses! The final race in the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Fox and Hounds Chase on Sunday 27th April starting at 10.30am. Registration/Start/Finish is at the Fox and Hounds Public House in Ainthorpe, Near Danby on the North Yorkshire Moors. The race is about 9 miles long with 1500 feet of ascent. The route is mainly on moorland paths so fell shoes will be best. Entry is on the day only. Click here to see a map of the route.

Weather was set fair for the penultimate race in The Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series. In the men’s race Jim Bulman was away very quickly having established a 100M. lead by the Highcliff turn. He was pursued by a group containing Charlie Stead, Paul Butler,Jason Cavill, Bill Stewart and Chris Roberts.
