Saltwell Harriers Fell Race is on Tuesday 2nd July 2013 starting at 7.30 pm. The registration start and finish is on the B6278, two miles north of Stanhope, Co Durham. The race is 5.6 miles long with 984 feet of ascent and has a mixture of terrain. Tracks, heather, bog, grass and singletrack. Not forgetting the wade waist deep (assuming your 6 feet tall !) in the stream to tag one of the checkpoints. All this for £5 paid on the night. The presentation is in the Moorcock Inn.
A brilliant day for running. Good temperatures and some drainage on the course after heavy rain all week left the going heavy especially on the route down from Lilla Cross. As I understand it there was a good group in the leading pack as they left the woodland and headed up towards York Cross.
