The latest Park Run to start up in the North East is the Blackhill Park Run that will start on Saturday 13th July 9am. The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is Maybeck Three Crosses on Saturday 29th June. The race start and registration is outside the caravan site above Falling Foss on Sneaton Low Moor, nr Whitby, North Yorkshire. The race is 5.8 miles long with 1200 feet of ascent and the fun starts at 10.30am. Click here to see a map of the race route.
It was a fabulous night for running if not a little too hot. It was ideal for Mike Jeffries in the men’s section who after a mixed start and a little back and forth with the others in the leading group came into his own in the last half of the race with a clear gap over Paul Lowe and Paul Butler who were his main challengers. The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series is the Whorlton Run on Wednesday 19th June. The race starts and registers from the Black Horse Inn in Swainby, Near Stokesley, North Yorkshire. Kick off is at 7-15pm, entry is on the night only. The race has less ascent than others in the series covering 10 km with 400 metres of ascent. A run round the Whorlton Run and some refreshment in the Black Horse a perfect evening entertainment.
