The 19th running of the Hexhamshire Hobble will take place on Sunday 2nd December. Click here for the exact details of the registration etc. The route is a mix of hard packed track, a bit of tarmac and some single track moorland paths. Race 5 in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is the Eskdale Eureka on Sunday 2nd December. The race is 14.6 km with 470 metres of ascent and is mainly narrow moorland path type running with a few short road and track sections. The race starts at 10.30am from the car park above the ‘Dibble’ near Castleton, North Yorkshire, grid reference 680078. Entry is £6 on the day only. Conditions are likely to be wet so please come prepared.
.A bright cold afternoon at Gosforth Race course saw the running of this years Norman Woodcock Memorial race. The winnner was Marc Elliot of Gateshead Harriers in a time of 25.30 for the 5 mile course. The womens race was won by the on-form Morag Stead of Morpeth Harriers in a time of 28.11

The 19th Baildon Boundary Way (a multi-terrain half marathon) that takes place on Sunday, 7 April 2013 will open online entries at 9:00am on Monday, 26 November 2012. This is a very popular event with only about 500 runners places so if you want to run mark Monday in your diary. The event can also be walked and there is no limit to walking entries.
A fine day with the frost just melting away in the sun but staying in the wood. Generally very heavy going making times slower. In the men’s event It was a head to head at the front with Cameron Taylor fighting to be ahead of Paul Butler. The other contenders were a little adrift as soon as they had completed the first short ascent through the wood. The next race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series is on Sunday 18th November. Clay Bank West starts at 10.30am from the Car Park at the top of Clay Bank just south of Great Broughton, near Stoksley, North Yorkshire. The race is 5.5 miles long with 900 feet of ascent.
