Humberton Hill Fell Race is a new race on the calendar starting and finishing in Haydon Bridge, Northumberland. The distance is 5.25 miles with 790 feet of ascent (category BS). This years Saltwell Harriers Fell Race is on Tuesday 3rd July. The course is the usual 5.5 miles near Stanhope that takes in a mix of disused railway line, heather, rough moorland and a stream. A pleasant night’s run with moderate temperatures and the constant threat of rain. Ground tended to be wet. It was a case of exercising the Wisdom of Solomon to sort this result out. We had to use photographic evidence from above Check Point Four. As a consequence some runners had 12 minutes added to their times and two had 20 minutes. Broughton Wood Wobble is a new race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race Series. The race is the next in the series and takes place on Wednesday 6th June starting at 7.15 pm from the Black Horse Inn in Swainby, North Yorkshire (Entry on the night only £6.
