Allendale Challenge 2012

The Allendale Challenge. Organised by North Of Tyne MRT to raise funds for the team, it´s considered by many to be one of the toughest challenge walks around. It is always very popular and should be a “must do” event for any keen walker or fell runner. The route covers some of the finest peat bogs in the North Peninnes. Northern Runner now has stock of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12 in our Newcastle-upon-Tyne store. The latest version of Brook’s popular Structured cushioning shoe has changed very little from the previous model. It still offers the great fit and feel associated with the Adrenaline GTS and the soft but, firm responsive cushioning that it supplied by the MoGo midsole and the DNA cushioning pods. Clay Bank East Fell Race Results 2012

Race 8 in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series was Clay Bank East. At the front of the men’s race it was youth against experience and experience won by the narrowist margin with both Phil Sanderson (Northumberland Fell Runners) and Cameron Taylor (Esk Valley) being given the same time but, the victory was awarded to Phil. The St. George’s Day 10km Road Races

This years St. George’s Day 10km Road Races will take place on Saturday 21st and 22nd April. The main 10km Race starts at 12 noon and the 3 km fun run starts at 11am. The start and finish is at the Sticklebarn Tavern, Great Langdale Near Ambleside. Despite the location the courses are quick with the ladies record being held by Lizzie Adam (Hallamshire Harriers) 33.17, and the Men’s by Ewan Malloch, Team Bath 30.46. Fourth Haltwhistle Challenge

The holidays are over and now is a good time to look ahead and start training for the Fourth Haltwhistle Challenge. This 26mile walk/run will be on Saturday May 19th, 2012. Booking is open. The cost has been held at £15, which we hope you agree is good value. The arrangements are very similar to last year, but the route has been altered to remove the Alston Arches in Haltwhistle. Anglesey’s Ring of Fire

A brand new ultra-event for Anglesey which will take place this August… The Ring o Fire is a 131 mile ultra marathon circumnavigating the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, staged over three consecutive days (31 August 2012 – 2 September 2012) and follows the rugged and spectacular Anglesey Coastal Path around the island.
