Brooks Pure Project: Which is the shoe for me ?

There are a selection of Brooks Pure Project Shoes each designed for different types of feet. Similar to ‘conventional’ running shoes the level of support in the shoes is different so there is a shoe for a mild over pronator (Pure Cadence), who might be wearing a Brooks Adrenaline GTS or a Brooks Trance at present, there is a guidance shoe (Pure Flow) for those who might be wearing a Brooks Ravenna at present and a neutral shoe (Brooks Connect) for the Brooks Glycerin wearer. As well as considering how... Read More

Sugoi Hydrolite Jacket

Every runner has that favourite piece of kit that they love and as the rainy season is almost here I thought I would write about mine. I have had a Sugoi Hydrolite Jacket for the last 5 years. Prior to the invention of this amazing jacket I would get wet. This is because I found waterproof jackets to be to hot leading to a boil in the bag feeling when running and on longer runs I would sweat so much that when I put my arms down the water would... Inov-8 Bare X Lite 150 Minimalist Running Shoes

Inov-8’s Minimalist Road Running Shoe range has just got bigger with the addition of the Inov-8 Bare X Lite 150. This shoe has zero differential between the height of the mid-sole at the heel and that of the forefoot. This makes it a true barefoot shoe. At 150 grams it is very light and has only a very thin flexible mid-sole with no outsole material. The Bare X Lite 150 therefore completes the Inov-8 Road X range. So, if you are looking to gradually progress into using shoes that are... Read More

Brooks Pure Project: Pure Grit

No range of running shoes would be complete without an off road offering. Brooks Pure Project’s range of shoes is no different. Like all the Pure Project Shoes the Pure Grit has only 4mm difference between the heel and forefoot. Encouraging the runner to land more on their mid-foot. The out sole has been specially designed by Ultra Trail Running Legend Scott Jurek. It is a unique concave outsole. It splays out under applied pressure which leads to a more balanced lay-down. The Outsole is also non slip and when... Read More
