Brooks Pure Project – Flow

The Brooks Pure Project is Brooks designers answer to minimalist footwear. However, it’s not minimalist. It has Brooks revolutionary MoGo mid sole material combined with DNA cushioning to give it that soft but firm responsive feel that you only get from a Brooks shoe. The Pure Flow has an inverted heel to aid the runner in landing just under their centre of gravity. This is further aided by the heel to forefoot differential being only 4mm. A split toe allows the big toe to act independent of the rest of... Read More

Rab Mountain Marathon 2011

Here is a link to a film about last years Rab Mountain Marathon just to get you in the mood for this years event on the 24th and 25th September in North Wales. Sadly the forecast isn’t looking as clear and sunny as last year. However, I am sure we’ll all enjoy a good weekend’s running on the hills.

Great Langdale Marathon and 1/2 Marathon

If you fancy a bit of a contrast to last weeks Great North Run. Than why not try the Great Langdale 1/2 Marathon, or the Marathon if you fancy a real challenge. It will be a bit less busy than the Great North Run and unlike the downhill run to the sea that Tynesides 1/2 Marathon offers Great Langdale is a bit more undulating with a few rather big hills. The crowds will be less but, the scenery more than makes up for that. Click here for more details.

Brooks Pure Project- Pure Connect

Brooks Pure Connect is the lightest of Brook’s new Pure range of running shoes. It weighs just 204 grams in a UK 8 and is low profile. The heel to forefoot drop is a mere 4mm so it encourages a more natural mid-foot strike. However, unlike other shoes of this type it has a very cushioned feel. The midsole is a mix of DNA and MoGo. Which gives it that soft but, firm feel of MoGo added to the way DNA changes it’s feel with the force that is applied.... Read More
