Paddy Buckley Round

Well done to Bob Johnstone, an ex Saltwell Harrier now with Dark Peak, who succesfully ran round the Paddy Buckley in 27 hours 50 minutes this weekend. The 61 miles challenge visits 47 Peaks including 28 000 feet of Ascent. Conditions where very difficult with heavy rain, thick mist and fog and high winds.

Roseberry Topping Fell Race Results 2011

There was a good turn out to the latest round of the Northern Runner/Eskdale Valley Summer Fell Race Series. 93 people where courageous enough to attempt the ‘sharks finn’ peak that is Roseberry Topping. Antony Moss (Totley) was the overall winner, while the ladies race was won by Junior Bromwen Owen (Scarborough). Click through to the full results.

Waterstones Silverlink hosts runners ‘Ed & Phil’ for running workshop day

Morgan does it again !

Morgan Donnelly (Borrowdale Fell Runners) won the latest round of the British and English Fell Running Championships at Sunday’s Sedburgh Hills Race. This is Morgan’s second win in the Championship after winning the last round at Yr Arran in North Wales. As well as some good results from Ex Northumberland Fell Runners like Morgan Donnelly, Ben Abdelnoor (4th now Ambleside), Steve Birkinshaw ( 36th now Borrowdale), Gary Jones lead home the current crop of local lads to finish 34th a very good position in a British Championship Race. Roseberry Topping Fell Race 2011

The next race in the Northern Runner/ Eskdale Valley Summer Fell Race Series is Roseberry Topping. Click through to a map of the route although this isn’t really necessary. You just keep running up until you run out of hill then turn round and let gravity help you return to the start. Roseberry Topping Race is a classic up and down fell race.
