The Loftus Poultry Run took place on Sunday13th February after being snowed off for the second year in succession in December. The men’s race a close battle between veteran Jim Bulman (NYM) and Grant Hawkins (New Marske). Jim finally got a 6 second gap to come home the victor. The Women’s race was a bit more clear cut with Georgie Rutherford running for Darlington storming to victory. For full results click here.
We now have entry forms for this years Blaydon Race in our Newcastle Store. This race is very popular and fills up very fast. The event is always on the 9th June every year (as in the Blaydon Race song). It starts at the bottom of the Big Market and goes along Scotswood Road to Blaydon finishing in the Super Market Car Park. The event is now in it’s 31st Year. The next race in our Winter Fell Race Series is the Castleton Beacon Race on Sunday13th February starting at 10.30am. Registration is from outside the Eskdale Inn in Castleton (684084) which is a great spot for your Sunday Lunch and a pint after the race. The run itself is 8 miles long with 1100 feet of ascent. It will be wet and muddy !
