Simonside Cairns Race Sunday 16th January 2011

The rescheduled Simonside Cairns Race will take place on Sunday 16th January. Registration is in the Newcastle Hotel in Rothbury where the race starts at 11am and finishes when you have run the 11 miles and scaled the 1700 plus feet of ascent. Be prepared for winter conditions including carrying enough food and clothing to look after yourself.

Pier to Pier 2011

This years Pier to Pier is on Sunday 22nd May starting at 10am. The event is approximately 7.5 miles long. The Pier to Pier is one of the North East’s most popular runs. The run will start on the beach at South Shields Pier and continue around asuperb scenic route, following the cliff top paths past Marsden Rock, Souter Point Lighthouse, passing very quickley by the Firing Range, onto the beach at Whitburn and finishing at Roker Pier. Hexhamshire Hobble

The Hexhamshire Hobble which was canceled due to the weather in December will be run on Sunday 9th January. All the details remain the same except the date. Wrap up warm as it will still be chilly on the top of the moors.

Clay Bank East 9th January 2011

The next round of the Northern Runner/Eskdale Valley Winter Fell Race Series is on Sunday 9th January. Clay Bank East starts at 10.30am and registration is in Clay Bank Car Park ( Ref. 572036). The route is 5.8 miles with about 800 feet of ascent. There may well be a bit of snow around so come prepared for an adventure.

Captain Cooks Fell Race Results 2010

A Happy New Year to all Winter Series Runners! We have started as we finished the last year – running in snow. This did not however put off many as the turn out was excellent and we raised £1400+ for charity. This will be given to two main charities the first dealing with children born with what can be termed a ‘smooth brain.’ They are wanting to buy some equipment. Morpeth 11km Road Race New Years Day

It was definitely a Happy New Year for Morpeths Lewis Timmins, when he coasted to a convincing win of his clubs 11k Road Race on New Years Day, albeit on a shorter course because of the icy restrictions in certain areas of the usual route.
