Report from the Whorlton Run

On an excellent night for running 94 runners set off at the sound of the shotgun! Jim Bulman soon established a lead and by the quarry he was already some 50m ahead of the field. Andy Hilton and Mike Jeffries gave chase with Will Horsley and Tom Edwards right up there. Whorlton Run

As I wasn’t able to get to the Whorlton Run (the last round of the Northern Runner/Eskdale Valley Summer Fell race Series) I haven’t seen any results yet. However, from David Aspens photo’s attatched below it looks like there was a good tussle between course record holder Andy Hylton (York) and Jim Bulman (NYM) with Jim emerging the victor.

Now in its 3rd year and fast becoming a classic! This year we have superb Mens and Womens Winners Trophies made from rare coppermines slate by local Sculptress Linda Inman. Aengus and Francis have a great LAMM !

Ex Northern Runner Employee Aengus McCullough together with Francis Blunt (both Northumberland Fell Runners) had a great run in the Elite Class of the LAMM last weekend. Finishing third on the first day they made the chasing start and then lost a place and gained a place to finish in third overall at the end of day two……. Redcar Half-Marathon Results 2010

The Redcar Half-marathon enjoyed its usual Cool, damp and windy weather yesterday and was won by Kenyan Kilimo Kiptuai in 01:02.07; First Lady home was Jenny Blizard in 01:18.04. Blaydon Race 2010 – Report

THOUSANDS of runners braved atrocious weather to compete in the annual Blaydon Race to raise money for the Charlie Crowe Scanner Appeal, which aims to help people in the North East with Alzheimers disease. Kenyan runner Ezekiel Cherop knocked Morpeths Ian Hudspith off the top spot with a time of 27 minutes 41 seconds, beating Ians record of 27 min 44 secs set last year. Man V Horse 2010

If you fancy doing somthing different this weekend why not race a horse. Man V Horse has been going since 1980 and is a 21 mile cross country race around some lovely country side in Mid Wales.
