We have had an influx of Race entry forms into the shop including the Sand Dancer 10k and the North Tyneside 10k races. This year, the race has switched from April to June; postal entry form will be available later; there is an on-line entry form at the address below.

Mizuno Blaydon Race 2010

Blaydon Race”.The latest information on the Blaydon Race web site says that entries for this year’s Blaydon Race are planned to open on February 16th and close on March 8th or on reaching the 4000 limit, whichever comes first. In 2009, the total race limit of 4000 entries was reached 5 days from opening; the on-line share (2000) was taken up in only 12 hours  yes, I did say hours!!)

Park Runs come to Newcastle

Park Runs offers a free 5km timed run every week all around the country. There is now an event at 9am every Saturday in Exhibition Park. All you have to do is register on the website and then get down there and have ago. It’s great to see your fitness improve as time goes on. It also gives you a bit of motivation to battle through the winter weather.

We now have stock of all sizes of Kahtoola Micro Spikes. As many customers will now be finding out Micro Spikes give great traction on compact snow or ice. They are quick to put over your shoes and take off again and are small enough and light enough to go in a pocket or bumbag.

Kielder Fell Race another victim of the snow

KIELDER RACE NOW POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY 7th FEBRUARY With regret I have had to postpone the Kielder race that was to be held on Saturday 16th January and it will now go ahead on Sunday 7th February. All other details concerning the race remain the same (including the start time of 1pm). Sorry for any inconvenience but in the end the decision was out of my hands. Pier to Pier Entry Form instore now

This year Pier to Pier Race will take place on Sunday 16th May 2010. The race is aproximately 7.5 miles long. The route starts on the beach at South Shields Pier and continues around a superb scenic route, following the cliff top paths past Marsden Rock, Souter Point Lighthouse, passing very quickly by the Firing Range, onto the beach at Whitburn and finishing at Roker Pier. Captain Cooks Race Results

Well there it is another fantastic New Years Day run. Sorry not to be there but a broken ankle had the last word. Many thanks to all those who helped on the day and to The Royal Oak for allowing us free run of the premises! We raised £1340 and this has been split equally three ways with monies going to Zoes Place (Children’s Hospice), The Multiple Sclerosis Society and Action for Heroes.
