A Mild day greated the runners at this years Guisborough Woods Race. The climb and descent was muddy but, the bits in between where dry and good running.

Paul Lowe (NYM AC) was the days victor which was his first win as a veteran in this race. Meaning that Paul has won this race out right numerous times as a junior, senior and now a veteran. Phil Sanderson (Northumberland Fell Runners) and Jim Bulman (Unattached) both Veterans made Paul work all the way for his victory.

Guisborough Woods was Paul Lowes first race after recovering from a bursa on his knee. So, all is looking good for him to add to his 11 victories in the Captain Cooks Race on New Years Day, which is the next round in the Northern Runner Esk Valley Winter Fell Race Series.

The Women’s race was won by Captain Cooks Fell Race Record Holder Catherine Willianson nee Hare. Who now has two consecutive vitories in the Northern Runner/Esk Valley Winter Series and will be hoping to make it three in a row on Sunday at Great Ayton.
