Well there it is another fantastic New Years Day run. Sorry not to be there but a broken ankle had the last word. Many thanks to all those who helped on the day and to The Royal Oak for allowing us free run of the premises! We raised £1340 and this has been split equally three ways with monies going to Zoes Place (Children’s Hospice), The Multiple Sclerosis Society and Action for Heroes. Hope you all got home OK as we were snowed in by about 2.00pm. Looking at the forecast for Clay Bank East please check before you travel.

The race itself hinged on The Captain Cook’s section where the two leaders Darran Bilton and Elliott Jackson missed the left turn through the old quarry and ended up at Gribdale. This allowed Jonathan Skidmore and Thomas Edwards to move through into first and second places respectively. However Darran and Elliott gave chase and a jubilant Darren regained the lead winning in 34:26 with Elliott finishing in 4th. In the women’s Event Lizzie Adams had a sparkling run to win from the in form veteran Caroline Pollard. Hope to see you all soon with a little less snow…
