Well we made it to the Beacon Hill Race. Well done to Paul Appleby and the team of helpers who put on a good fun event and marked the course out the night before in the middle of a thunder storm.

Northern Runner staff Drew and Charlie both ran. Drew in his first ever fell race. Drew is normally an 800 metre runner and has ended his season and is now building up his fitness for the Cross Country Season which starts early in America where he is at College. After a bit of route choice and a tussle between Phil Vincent (Tynedale), Jim Mann (DFR), Scott Gibson (NFR) and Charlie Stead (NFR and Northern Runner). Andrew Graham (Gosforth and Northern Runner) won in his first ever fell race. Fun was had by all and we enjoyed a good pint and a pickled egg in The Gate.
