The Red Kite Challenge takes place in an often missed bueatiful part of Wales. It is well worth a weekend away to take part in. Details as follows:

Saturday – Welsh Senior and Masters Trail Running Championships, incorporating the UK Short Course Championships run over a hilly 11 mile course utilising some of the many rocky tracks, paths and forest trails in the Nant Yr Arian area, 12 miles inland from Aberystwyth.

Sunday – Ras Y Diafol run over 18 miles through undulating forestry and moorland starting and finishing in nearby Devils Bridge. The race also includes a relay event for teams of three, legs between five and seven miles.

Both events are races in their own right and runners can enter one or the other if they prefer, with prizes also awarded for the overall challenge for the best aggregate times over the Weekend. The courses are well marked with a generous prize list, with refreshments and showering/changing facilities at the end of both events.
