Having sold out of places within weeks of taking entries Ultimate Trails have announced 100 more places for their 100km and 50km Trail Ultra’s held in the Lake District on the 14th and 15th September. If you are upto the challenge then click here to grab one of the few remaining places.

Thanks to John Taylor for pictures from the Fox and Hounds which was the first race in the Northern Runner/ Esk Valley Summer Fell Race. The nest race is the Carlton Challenge on Wednesday 15th May, 7.15pm start from Carlton Bank Top, Near Stoksley. It’s 5 miles long with a bit of up and down.

Rob Hope (Pudsey and Bramley)made a return to form to win the first round of the English Fell Running Championships on Saturday at the Fairfield Horseshoe narrowly beating the 2011 British Champion Morgan Donnelly. Northern Runner now has stock of the La Sportiva Anakonda. This is La Sportiva’s replacement for the X-Country. The Anakonda has the same super sticky, heavily lugged outsole which is ideal for fell running. However, the fit, feel and upper of the shoe is much improved.
