Guisborough Woods Race Report and Results
N.Runner/NEHRA Winter Series 2014-5

A winter wonderland saw a very cold start to the race with fabulous views across the moor. In the men’s race Jack Willis led from the start gaining a clear advantage by the top of the quarry pursued by Paul Darroch, Alan Stirk, Ian McGrath and a few others. It was much the same story in the women’s event where Caroline Lambert was probably further ahead in her race at the quarry top chased by Shelli Gordon, Kath Aspin with Julia Jackson not far away. This continued to be the case at the end of the first short lap but each leader had stretched their lead appreciably. It was the second longer lap that saw a few changes in the leading groups. Jack went on to win the men’s in a fabulous time of 45.10 whilst Caroline also was a clear winner in an equally wonderful time of 50.06. Behind them Mike Jeffries came through to second, whilst Paul had to
settle for third with Chris Roberts 4th, leading Knavesmire men to team victory.
In the women Emma Bain came right through from 6th to second whilst Shelli finished third supported by Kath Aspin in 5th, leading her team of New Marske to win the women’s team event. In the juniors Matthew Clark just edged pout Holden Outhwaite in
the M12. Sophie Quinn won the girls M10. James Morris won the M14 ahead of Josh Noble. Claudia Hall won the F12. Well done juniors. For full results click here.
See you at Cook’s on New Years Day. Best wishes ……. Dave
